Access Control

Access Control is a powerful technology that can enhance the overall effectiveness of a security solution. Access control can consist of Card Readers, Access Cards and Tags as well as Biometric Scanners such as fingerprint and retina recognition.

Access Cards and Biometrics can be used to control the movement of people and vehicles into or out of an area or building. An Access Card can identify individuals and allow access and egress to a pre-defined area by simply scanning the access card in front of the Card Reader. The card reader then analyses the data stored in the access cards and determines whether the user has authorised entry based on access level, date and/or time. The reader then stores the information and records the activity for future reference or reports.

This type of system can monitor individuals’ access, protect employees and provide full activity reports. As well as providing security, Access Card reports can also assist with Occupational Health and Safety issues and Performance Management. Access control software is password protected and allows the end user to add, delete or modify users.
Locks and keys also allow you to secure your building, but when keys are lost or stolen, the inconvenience and expense of changing locks and re-issuing keys can be considerable. Keys may also be copied, creating even more security risks.

All businesses, whether small, medium or large, have assets that need to be protected from theft. There is also the issue of protecting staff and their property. It is common in buildings that are secured by locks and keys for doors to be left unlocked all day. This opens up the possibility of opportunist theft and malicious damage.

Electronic access control provides the most efficient and convenient way of securing your building and assets. Installing an access control system means that you will never have to change a lock again.

Once an access control system is installed, all doors controlled by the system will automatically lock when the door is closed. Anyone without authorised access is unable to enter. If necessary, doors may be set to unlock during a designated time frame.

In addition to protecting property, an access control system can provide peace of mind for personnel who are able to work in a safe environment.
